Sand Valley Golf & Country Club is built on an area ideally suited for golf. The area benefits from great views, as in places it elevates 20 metres above the surroundings. The sandy base that extends throughout the course serves as a good starting point for building a high quality golf course. The natural elements of the area, such as the old tree islands, as well as the river bordering the southern boundary of the property will be brought into play and presented at most natural. The name Sand Valley originates from the intriguing natural canyon that splits the centrally placed old forest into two separate sandy plateaus. That is also where an expansive 2 hectare waste bunker originates, extending nearly half a kilometer south, crossing three fairways, course lending significantly to the very special visual character of the course.

The Course features two returning nine-hole loops rotating to opposite directions. The course can be further split into 3 slightly different sections. Holes 2, 3 and 4 feature the forested part of the course. The second area laid between the old tree-lined road to the south, and the forests in the north feature 8 holes. This area accomadates a 20 meter high ridge that split the course into two levels, and with that some fantastic views. The area will have gorse abound, giving holes the traditional look found on many classic courses of Great Britain & Ireland. The seven holes south of the old road play along the sandy river banks. The river with all its bends provided the architect with over 2 kilometres of river line. Typical to this section will be the large, natural bunkers, and the tall golden fescues growing within and around the bunkers.

Sand Valley Golf & Country Club feature four sets of tees from the championship tees to the ladies tees, ideally suited to all levels of golfers. Sand Valley is a par 72 for men and a par 73 for women. The course has a wide variety of distances, asking for every club in the bag. Shot making skills from the old times will also be called upon, especially around the severely contoured green complexes. The pot bunkers that are best avoided and the scruffy waste bunkers, as well as the fast and firm conditions that will be the standard.

We believe, you have a very comprehensive golfing challenge, Enjoy Sand Valley.

Sand Valley Golf and Country Club has long overdue brought to the continent, a breath of air from the origins of golf.

The natural appearance thoroughly thought out strategies as well as the quality of maintenance will give the course timeless character previously unseen in this part of the world. I hope that a round of golf at Sand Valley will leave a lasting impression with everyone experiencing it”
